Status Update
PC’s and PCSO’s have been conducting high visibility patrols of the hotspot locations identified to us regarding anti-social vehicle use in residential areas off of Woodthorpe Road. A warrant was executed and a closure order was placed on a property last month in regard to reports of ASB in the area. High visibility foot patrol has continued in and about Church Road resulting in seizures of NOS and Cannabis.

Shoplifting and acquisitive crime

Shoplifting - In March, there were 2 incidents that have already resulted in a positive outcome. 1 offender has been charged to appear at court and a first-time offender has been issued a community resolution.
Multiple targeted uniformed and plain clothed operations have been conducted in the area dedicated to shoplifting in Ashford, to catch offenders and prevent crime.
PCSO BRETT has completed a meet the beat at Sainsbury’s Ashford in support of crime prevention, reassurance and meeting the local community.
Foot patrols completed with engagement to local businesses, identifying concerns within the community and patterns of offending, for a targeted policing approach to tackle retail crime.
4 suspects have been arrested in connection with incidents of shoplifting in Ashford.
Acquisitive Crime - Over the last several months we have conducted visible and proactive patrols in the area, targeting vehicles and individuals linked to acquisitive crime. We have been actively charging and remanding known prolific burglars and utilising orders such as CPNs and CBOs in order to disrupt and deter their offenders. We have also conducted foot patrols in hotspot areas for burglaries and provided advice to help homeowners safeguard themselves effectively.

Re-introduction of StreetSafe, which is a platform to report anything that makes women unsafe. Businesses approached to distribute the QR code/link to the platform. Please, if possible, place the poster on the Surrey Police website/social media platforms.
High visibility and plain clothes patrols increased. Focused on Church Road and Ashford Railway station.
Key businesses attended and spoken to about VAWG to raise awareness about reporting and keeping customers safe.
